5 things you didn't know about weight loss

You probably have heard many things about losing weight. Sure google searches will tell you this and that and then you try them. But they still don't seem to work do they? The probable reason why is because either you were not consistent with the methods provided or the methods proved to be inefficient. So is losing weight that hard? Here are 5 things you probably didn't know.

1. Eating healthy oils will make you lose weight

Okay, lets get this straight. Oils come in two different forms, the healthy kind and the unhealthy kind. The healthy kind of oils known such as olive oil, Canola oil, Safflower oil, Sunflower oil and so on are truly indeed "healthy" but that is not totally true. You see, the difference between unhealthy oils and healthy oil is the amount of saturated and unsaturated fats present. Saturated fats have a higher chance in causing heart problems while unsaturated fats have a lower chance. Healthy oils have a higher percentage of unsaturated fats. But the fact we should know is that almost all of the known edible oil have an equal amount of energy per known weight. So it doesn't matter if you eat more of healthy oils and less or unhealthy oils, they all have the same or equal amounts of energy per gram.

2. Eating no carbs make you lose weight

Glucose is the main source of energy for us humans. Logic says that if you wait without eating you will lose weight. True, but who in hell can wait without eating anything? To make things worse it actually does more harm than good. When you starve your body goes into a state of low metabolism and you burn less of your stored sources of energy leaving you weak and fooled of the thought that those fats are getting burned. What is even more worse is that you are prone to more diseases. When you are in a state of starving, the body's defense mechanism to fight xenobiotics ( disease agents) is reduced. The thing to be taken here is to consume carbs that are rich in fiber such as oats and whole wheat breads and pastas. What these do is that they raise the blood sugar level slowly rather than spiking it like sugar does.

3. Taking weight loss pills makes you lose weight

Look, you can't gain nothing without putting in the work. There are countless companies that advertise that their magic pills make you lose weight and show false results of people who have actually taken them. Now come on! We all know how TV commercials work right? What weight loss pills do is that they slightly increase the body's metabolism, which is not significant enough to cause weight loss hence why you don't see results. Then what is the use of these pills? What you should do is with these pills is that after you take them preferably after a meal you should do a work out since your metabolism is high which might show significant results.

4.  Eating a good breakfast is they key to losing weight

This is quite the popular myth. Studies show that people who skip breakfast weigh more than the people who actually have their breakfast. But lets look at the logical side of this. People who have time to have breakfast are probably leading healthier lifestyles because they actually allocate some time in their life to have breakfast and they probably have more things that they do to ensure they stay fit. The people who actually skip breakfast are the people who have extremely busy schedules and they have very poor nutritional plans as they eat and overeat when they feel hungry not knowing whether they will have time for another meal. Eating a lot at a time is not the key to loss, whether it is for breakfast or lunch or dinner, eating while you are hungry in correct proportions is.

5. Running and cardio is the best for weight loss

Cardio initially makes you lose weight, but the loss is not as significant as you would want. The thing is Cardio is less intensive on the muscles and the amount of calories burned is quite low. What you should do is activate the muscles for higher intensity work and then do cardio and the high intensity workouts for the best results. High intensity workouts activate the muscles more significantly as more muscles fibers are involved in the type of work done.

In conclusion, the best way to lose weight is having a balanced diet plan with lots of fiber and a mixture of high intensity and low intensity workouts. Now lets get those dream beach bods!
