The smartphone evolved drastically in the past from software and hardware, but now we are in the era where the design of the smartphone is taking a turn for the worst or the best.
Samsung has always been one of the great pioneers in the smartphone industry bringing various new features to its smartphones. Most often they were the first to introduced great new features such as bigger screens, water resistance, iris scanners, fingerprint scanners and many more to it's flagship devices. Samsung has never been consistent in providing its consumers with a gradually and orderly design upgrade like the iPhones do, but they try really hard to introduce a feature instead of continuing its legacy in design. Don't get me wrong though but Samsung really do know what they are doing by really offering the customers what they need. But with the galaxy S8 things are quite controversial.
The infinity display:
It really is a bold move to introduce a new generation in smartphone displays and it really does fit! People seem to be truly impressed with it. Personally I think the display is a masterpiece! I mean look at that gorgeous display. All that screen real estate for you and the best part is the phone doesn't seems to be all that big in your hand!
The camera:
Samsung have not made any significant improvements compared to its predecessor the galaxy S7. Many of the reviews out there don't show any notable changes to the quality of the camera although it is 12 megapixels which is the same from last year. Samsung seems confident in maintaining its camera quality however it is quite the trend to bring a major change in the camera to a next generation smartphone, but hey, whatever floats your boat Samsung,
The new assistant Bixby :
Samsung has always tried to make its own version of android and have not succeeded completely. Now they introduced its own personal assistant Bixby which they hope or want to replace google assistant with or keep up with their major rival Apple.
The home button:
Samsung has placed the home button at the back of the S8. In my opinion Samsung has compromised practicality with design. The reviews often say that reaching a the physical home button is quit hard if your fingers are short, to be more precise, your index finger. But I think Samsung gave more priority to its design rather than the ease and practicality its consumers desire.
Overall the Galaxy S8 introduces a new generation of smartphone design and my god that phone is gorgeous! It is truly a premium device and you are sure to be respected if you own one. Is it worthy of an upgrade? It sure is. You will get a whole new smartphone experience as this is a phone unlike any other (Samsung didn't pay me to say this). It is a new generation of smartphone and it surely will be worth your investment.
Is the Galaxy S8 the future of the smartphone?
