DJ Sandee's College Recipes : Michelin starred Spaghetti

Hello, I am DJ Sandee and welcome to my series called College Recipes where I will teach you quick, easy and cheap meals that you could prepare instantly and it will take you less than 15 minutes!

Today I am gonna show you how you can make a wonderful and scrumptious dish of spaghetti that will match up to the best Spaghetti dishes in the world!

Prep time : 7 mins
Cook time : 5 mins
Total time : 12 mins

Its all about in the ingredients, so you will need :

  • Good quality Spaghetti (even the "not too" cheap ones are okay) : Grab some Spaghetti into you hand and meet your index finger with your thumb enclosing an amount of spaghetti.
  • Ripe tomatoes : 3 regular sized or 1 and half large sized or 5 cherry tomatoes
  • Onions - 1 large or 3 regular (diced)
  • Garlic - 4 cloves ( diced)
  • Olive oil (preferably Extra Virgin Olive oil)
  • Campbell's cream of mushroom soup paste
  • Parmesan cheese (grated)
  • Tomato sauce/ Spaghetti sauce (half a cup or just enough to submerge the contents in the pan)
  • Bacon (cut into small pieces)
  • Salted Butter
  • Basil Leaves (Optional)

Method

Step 1 - First boil some water and add a pinch of salt and some oil (any type of oil). Adding the salt is very important and if you don't wanna have sticky spaghetti add the oil. Add the spaghetti and cook and drain afterwards.

Step 2 - Add the pieces of bacon straight into the pan without any oil and fry until its golden brown and remove the bacon leaving the oil.

Step 3 - Cut your tomatoes into halves and remove the seeds ( it is to make sure that the sauce will not be too sour. Fry them with the remaining oil from the bacon until they are totally wilted and have started to char.

Step 4 - To the same pan with the tomatoes add the diced onions and garlic and saute them until soft. You may add extra olive oil if the tomatoes have soaked up all the oil from the bacon.

Step 5 - Add the tomato sauce to the contents of the pan under medium heat and bring it to a boil

Step 6 - Add the cooked spaghetti and make sure you coated all of the spaghetti with the sauce.

Step 7 - Add two heap tablespoons of Campbell's cream of mushroom soup paste into the mixture and mix well.

Step 8 - Add a layer of Parmesan cheese on top followed by the cooked bacon and mix well until the cheese melts. You can know when it is done when you can see the cheese starting to form strands

Step 9 - Turn off the heat and plate up with a few leaves of Basil on top along with a drizzle of olive oil.

Step 10 - Eat immediately along with a glass of milk or wine!

Comment with your pictures on how you got it and enjoy!
